Will The Birds Still Sing

This was made in March of 2020 just as the entire world came to a screeching halt. I’d just returned from Guatemala. We had created art for one of the towns to help bring tourists there. We went for a hike in the jungle with some very experienced birders/hikers who explained which avian species we saw and a bit about them. We saw some amazing birds including Quetzals. We also noticed a large amount of damage to the trees. There are poachers who cut the trees and capture the birds. The birds are sold, the wood cooks the food that people need to stay alive. This is a sad reality when you are a position such as those who live hand to mouth. Something most of us in the USA will never deal with.
