I call this piece Earth Day because of all the discarded remnants of junk found on my rural New Hampshire walks. Rusty pieces of metal, vintage painted wood, crumbles of asphalt from recent road work - all collected and mixed with hand cut stone, pottery and turquoise chips to make something appeasing to the eye. Our earth is clogged with debris and I am doing my part to pick up and use what I can for artistic purposes. The little clay head represents mankind's responsibility to our Earth. Every day should be Earth Day!
